Forgotten Cartoons

By Lily Ward

There are so many shows from our childhood that have been forgotten about. I want to bring light to all of the amazing shows that we watched as a kid and hopefully get you to remember why we loved them so much!

1. Pinky and the Brain

Pinky and the Brain is a cartoon that was made September 9th, 1995 and ended November 14th, 1998. The cartoon was about two lab rats named Pinky and Brain that try to take over the world. Brain is usually known to be self centered and Pinky is more good-natured.

2. Johnny Bravo

Johnny Bravo was made March 26th, 1995 and ended August 27th, 2004. Johnny Bravo is a guy who has very high confidence. He assumes every girl loves him and he loves talking about himself, which is expressed in the quote, “Enough about you, let’s talk about me.”

3. Totally Spies

Totally spies started November 1st, 2001 and ended October 3rd, 2013. Totally Spies is about three teenage girls named Sam, Alex, and Clover. These girls have a double life, as they’re high school students that love fashion, but also work for the World Organization of Human Protection, also known as WOOHP.

4. My Life as a Teenage Robot

My Life as a Teenage Robot first aired August 1st, 2003 and ended May 2nd, 2009. It revolves around a robot called XJ-9 but goes by Jenny. Jenny was to protect earth but she also just wants to be a normal teenager. The fact that she’s more focused on being an average teenager instead of saving the planet can cause some problems, but she just wants to go to school and hang out with friends.

5. Astro Boy

Astro Boy is an old TV show but mostly known for the movie. The show started January 1st, 1963 and ended December 31s 1966. The movie was made October 18th, 2009. Astro Boy, also known as Toby, was a robot designed as a 12 year old boy that was made in a lab. Toby has super strength, X-Ray vision, and he can fly. He goes to find acceptance and finds a group of people that he can stay with. He has to pretend to be a human because they believe robots have no emotion and are dangerous. Once his secret is revealed, it puts Toby in danger.

All of these forgotten cartoons made our childhoods more enjoyable, and I say we start remembering them!

IT: Chapter Two (2019) Review

By Decklynn Johnston

For quite some time, everyone has been buzzing about the sequel to IT: Chapter One. Chapter Two came out on September 6th, 2019. I went to see it with some friends on September 9th, and I can say I was not disappointed with the movie. IT was originally a novel written by an author named Stephen King, who is known for his horror-themed novels. There was a popular original film made in 1990 with a sequel as well.

If you’ve seen IT, then you know it’s about a demonic clown that terrorizes a group of friends. One of the group’s members, William “Bill” Denborough had a little brother named Georgie who got eaten by the demonic clown, Pennywise. The story then sets itself in motion. In the end, the self-proclaimed Losers fight off Pennywise for good, and make a blood oath that if IT, Pennywise, ever returns to the town of Derry, they would come back to destroy IT again.

In Chapter One, they’re all in the 12-14 age range, now fast forward to Chapter Two, 27 years later. They’re all grown up, and leading their own lives for the most part. However, IT returns to Derry and Mike, the only member of the Loser’s Club that stayed behind in Derry, calls all of his old friends to give them the terrifying news. Now, we all know that their childhoods were traumatizing, mainly because of Pennywise but also because of personal things that were happening in each of their homes. However, despite these traumatizing experiences, the ones that left Derry don’t remember most of it until they return to their hometown.

The best part about this movie is that they connect all of the complicated backstories. With seven main characters, you’d think it would be difficult to successfully be able to have each character’s story line fit appropriately into the story,  but the producers do a very good job at it. Not to mention its relevance to the book. The remakes (2017 & 2019) are more of an accurate representation of the book, including more of the book’s events and the storyline than the 1990 version did. The graphics were good and the plot was planned out very well, and the movie progressed smoothly. All in all, the move was made really well.

Another thing that makes the movie amazing is the comedy mixed in with the horror. Most movies that mix these genres overdo it to the point where it gets a tad bit annoying. However, IT Chapter Two has its comical moments, but it still serves its purpose as a horror movie very well.

And lastly, let’s talk about the character development and actors. All of the characters go through changes that benefit the story. Chapter Two loops around to connect the characters to their adolescent selves, childhood events and not to mention the actors they picked out were fabulous for the job. The cast did an amazing job at portraying the characters in a similar way the cast did in Chapter One.

Overall, IT: Chapter Two exceeded my expectations and was an excellent movie, and is even a movie you could watch more than once without getting bored with it. This movie lives up to its big reputation. IT has the perfect mix of horror, comedy and drama, so in all, this movie won’t let you down.

Top 5 Worst Live Action Nick Sitcoms

By Michael Mann

Nick, what used to be known as a really good place for live action sitcoms, has now become a place where lackluster comedy sitcoms plague the channel. I’ll be going over the worst of the worst today in the worst live-action Nick sitcoms.

Note: this list will not contain sitcoms such as Every Witch Way because they are both very terrible and not considered to even be a Nick sitcom since they are short lived and rarely aired.

With that out of the way, onto the list!

5. The Thundermans

fun-facts-about-the-incredibles-920x584.jpg
Yes, The Thundermans… oh wait… my bad. Source: NME

O_o
Here they are, the REAL Thundermans. Source: Twitter

I just realized this is literally the live-action version of The Incredibles with the addition of two older siblings, think about it, the baby has multiple powers, the father has super strength, even the younger brother has super speed like Dash. The Thundermans is about superheroes who live in the suburbs living the most normal lives they can live with superpowers, hmm sounds familiar… Aside from all the jokes about how this is literally just The Incredibles but worse, each episode has pretty terrible plots and horrendous special effects that deter me from watching the shows. The only good thing I can think of this show is the acting isn’t bad for kid actors; it’s not like the cringe-fest you’ll hear about later in the list.

4. Sam And Cat

original
Ugh, just ugh. Source: CharityBuzz

Sam was one of the best characters in iCarly, so why they decided to have a spinoff series with the worst character in Victorious is still a mystery to me. Sam & Cat is about Sam from iCarly getting sad and leaving Seattle after Carly goes off to college. She ends up in Hollywood Arts, the same town where Cat lives. Sam ends up saving Cat from being crushed to death while in a dumpster, and in a show of gratefulness, Cat lets Sam live with her. They then become babysitters, and it becomes full of hijinks yadda yadda yadda cliched plots yadda. This show is just terrible. The acting isn’t too bad, but all the stories just seem to be overused and boring, and it doesn’t capture the same feel of the previous series which is a pretty big shame it had potential to be a decent series to carry on the legacy of both Victorious and iCarly, but instead it just made me and many other people just give up on the series entirely.

3. Bella And The Bulldogs

Image result for bella and the bulldogs
OMG, IT’S A GIRL PLAYING FOOTBALL, ALERT THE PRESS!!! Source: Hidden Remote

The show Bella and the Bulldogs is about a cheerleader named Bella becoming a football player and how the football team has to adjust to a girl playing football. This show is just stupid. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for women being able to do anything a guy should do including football, but this is just a stupid show. The reason I say this is because how the show actually treats this. They treat it like a huge freaking deal like as if an asteroid just hit the Earth and killed half the population. It also shows Bella getting all these royalties since she is a girl, which comes off as pretty sexist. This show should be about how girls are the same as boys, but it shows her getting all these luxuries because she is thought of a lot weaker than all the boys on the team. Aside all of that, the plots are pretty stale and are pretty much the same each episode, and the acting is just notorious. I personally just give this one a pass every time it airs (which hasn’t been lately considering it has been canceled).

2. Game Shakers

Game_title.jpg
Photographer: “Everyone look as stupid and entitled as possible for this shot.” Source: Wiki

Ugh. This show… It’s about a group of kids who make a terrible mobile flash game for a science project that becomes popular, so they end up making a company out of it called Game Shakers. The plot doesn’t sound too bad (it’s original at least), but the way it is used is just terrible. The acting like pretty much every series on this is just the worst. The characters are all 2D and never develop, and each episode has the absolute dumbest plots. I remember watching an episode where they decide to buy stuff with some of the money they earned, and one of the girls ends up losing her sweater. They search all over NYC instead of buying a new one, and not surprisingly, they don’t find it maybe because IT IS ACTUALLY  THE BIGGEST CITY IN THE U.S. They end up buying another sweater making the whole episode completely pointless. Like all of the entries on this list, this show is terrible and has no right to be on any T.V. all around the world. Even serial killers in prison don’t deserve to suffer through any of these episodes of this show or any other entry on this list.

Dishonorable Mentions:

School of Rock

SCHOOL OF ROCK SEASON 1 GALLERY
-.-     Source: Deadline

A terrible show that should’ve never existed and so forgettable that the only reason it isn’t on this list because I completely forgot about this show until now. It’s just a dumb series that is exactly like the movie starring Jack Black except all the actors are unknown crappy nick actors.

With that out of the way, the absolute worst live-action nick sitcom to ever air without a doubt is…

1. Henry Danger

Terrible, just terrible.jpg
Seeing this actually triggers traumatic memories of this show. Source: WordPress

Yes, this show is the absolute worst of all the shows. The story is placed in the city of Swellview (yes, the city is called Swellview) where a kid name Henry stumbles upon the lair that houses the superhero of the city, Captain Man, (YES CAPTAIN MAN IS THE NAME OF THE FREAKING SUPERHERO) and becomes his sidekick, even though Captain Man is literally a Superman who doesn’t have a Kryptonite. You might be thinking “It’s bad but it’s not as bad as the other shows.” Well, I find this to be the worst for one major reason, IT HAS FOUR SEASONS AND IT’S STILL GOING.

I don’t understand. This is one of the worst and cringiest shows to ever air on television, and it’s for some reason popular enough to actually have four seasons and an animated series based around the show. Yes, they made an animated show, The Adventures of Kid Danger, a terribly animated, lazy, cheaply put together series, that was a desperate attempt to boost the ratings of the show. Aside from it still airing, all the actors especially the kid ones are absolutely terrible, Jace Norman (Henry) can’t act if his LIFE DEPENDED ON IT, and Henry’s sister makes me want to smash my television every time she opens her mouth, and Jasper, oh god this kid, I can’t even explain how much I despise this kid’s acting. Don’t get me wrong, the adults are no better, but god, these kids! I know I’m not any better at acting, but I’m not paid to actually act like these people are, and also, I know that I am bad at acting. It looks like these people think that they are actually deserving of the title of AN ACTOR.

It’s not only just the “actors” that make me hate this show; the story itself is cliched and done in just a terrible way. It’s pretty much “what if Superman had a whiny sidekick that tells all his friends he knows him.” I asked my sister why she watches this garbage, and every time she admits it’s bad but still continues watching it for whatever reason. I watched all I ever wanted to watch of this show, and no amount of money could convince me to watch even another second of this cringe-worthy garbage show. Bottom line, it’s a terrible show that should never have ever existed in the history of television.

Hope you enjoyed my article. Sorry the last entry was a bit lengthy, but I just needed to express my hatred for the show.

More Forgotten Shows

A few months ago, I made an article going over shows I personally thought people would’ve forgotten about. I realized while reading it again I focused too much on the modern cartoons that were forgotten since they were terrible. I decided to make another list only consisting of shows that you may have watched when you were younger and just forgot about them since it’s been a while since you heard mention of them.

The Ren & Stimpy Show (1991-1996)

Remastered_Classics.png
I have no clue what to put here as a caption. Source: Fandom

Ren & Stimpy, how this was considered a children’s show is still a mystery. The Ren and Stimpy Show follows the adventures of Ren, an emotionally unstable chihuahua, and Stimpy, a dimwitted yet kind cat. This is a show I personally never watched as a child, but I know that quite a few people have fond memories watching this, and I also know people who were scarred for life after watching one episode. Either way, it was a cartoon I rarely see people talking about nowadays so I decided to remind everyone that this exists.

Mr. Meaty (2005-2009)

maxresdefault (9)
The Muppets lesser-known, uglier, twice-removed second cousins somehow made four years runtime. Source: YouTube

Weird, I make a list only focusing on the cartoons from our childhood and two in a row are both nightmare material and Nickelodeon shows. Mr. Meaty is about two lazy teenage boys who work at the fictional restaurant called Mr. Meaty. Sounds like a normal world with relatable characters right? Well, if you saw the picture above, you would see it has really ugly puppets in place of people. It aired on Nick for two seasons between 2005 and 2009. As a kid, the only reason I knew about the show was from a flash game called Treasure of the Deep that I used to play, which was fishing gross things out of a deep frier using a piece of string tied to a paperclip.

BARF
By far the best thing to ever come from Mr. Meaty Source: Y8

Nothing much more to say about this series other than it was forgotten and it was absolutely terrible.

Reboot (1994-2002)

250px-Reboottitlecard
Geez, I dread seeing this word after TTG. Source: Wikipedia

This is probably a cartoon you never heard of, but Mr. Whitehead told me to mention it so I will. If you remember this, great! It’s about the adventures of a Guardian named Bob and his companions Enzo and Dot Matrix as they work to keep the computer system of Mainframe safe from the viruses known as Megabyte and Hexadecimal. I know nothing of this show, so I can’t say whether it was good or bad. Whitehead said it was good, so good in fact he said “I forced my kids to watch it”. But, he also said his kids hated it, so I don’t know what to say. Check it out, and maybe you’ll like it.  Fair warning, it has very terrible CGI so good luck trying to stomach the first episode after watching an 8k movie.

Not as bad as stuff the CGI stuff that IHE reviews but still nightmare material. Source: The Verge

Code Name: Kids Next Door (2002-2008)

maxresdefault (10)
Dang, I just watched an episode less than a week ago and realized how much of a masterpiece this show is. Source: YouTube

One of the only shows I’ve enjoyed watching as a toddler as much as a teenager. The story is about kids who fight adults that want to ruin kid’s fun. This for a kid’s show was insanely good. Seriously, the quality of this cartoon is just incredible. I remember almost everything about this show from when I was a kid; that is how memorable this show is to me. I rarely see people talk about anything related to this show, so I decided to mention it just to remind everyone that this exists and it’s pretty darn good.

Rugrats (1990-2006)

rugrats_lg
So very nostalgic. Source: Mental Floss

Rugrats, a show that aired for sixteen years and had a total of nine series and a spinoff series with five. For me and many other people, it was a big part of our early childhood. I actually hear a few people talking about this show and the possibility of a new movie coming out about the series, but I still think a few people have forgotten about this series and decided to mention it anyway.

Kim Possible (2002-2007)

kim-possible-revival-movie
Ah geez. Source: TVLine

I can’t believe I actually forgot this show. This show was my childhood. I watched it more than any other show that aired at the time, even SpongeBob. The story revolves around seemingly normal teenagers named Kim Possible and her friend Ron Stoppable, but they are actually secret heroes that save the world in their free time with a naked mole rat named Rufus. Sounds cliche’, so what? Things are cliche because they’re so popular, and I really see nothing wrong with shows that have a cliche’ plot as long as they put their own spin on it. If you’re a fan of the show like me, you might be excited to hear that a new live-action movie is in the works, and I am pretty excited to see how it turns out.

Top 5 Best Family Guy Episodes

By Michael Mann

5. And Then There Were Fewer

Four of the people shown will never be seen again in Family Guy. Source: IMDb

Starting the list off with one of the highest rated episodes of the series, iit’s about the Griffins getting a mysterious letter from someone inviting them to a mansion. They find out that the person who invited them was James Woods wanting to make amends with everyone who he wronged (which included most of the main Family Guy cast and side characters). But, it then turns murder mystery when someone ends up dead. There are more and more plot twists as the cast tries to find out who the murderer is. One of the best things to come from this episode is that it actually affects stuff that happens later in the series. It gives some continuity to Family Guy, which is well deserved since it’s a show that is always criticized for having absolutely no continuity. I can’t actually think of anything bad about this episode, not even a half-joking statement. Absolutely nothing, it’s a solid episode and only here on the list because I just personally like the other episodes more than this one.

4. Star Wars Trilogy

Something something something DARK SIDE. Source: CinemaBlend

Star Wars is one of the (if not) the most well-known successful movie franchises worldwide. Family Guy is a show that has been canceled twice and has slowly been deteriorating in quality. The Star Wars movies they used were the first three movies (Episode IV V VI), and it stars the Family Guy cast (Lois is Leia, Peter is Hans Solo, and Chris is Luke Skywalker) where they give the Family Guy spin on the movies. I found the episodes pretty funny, and it fed into my Star Wars obsession. I couldn’t really find much wrong with these episodes (other than shamelessly grabbing for cash by making Star Wars episodes). They are just really good.

3. Killer Queen

810rfsma2tL._SL1090_.jpg
Yeah ROCK & ROLL! Source: Amazon

“Dynamite with a laser beam, guilty to blow your mind (anytime!)” Killer Queen, the first Family Guy episode I’ve ever watched. The episode is about Chris entering a hot-dog eating contest and winning, and his stomach starts to hurt so Lois sends him to fat camp to help him lose weight. The other plot is Brian buying Peter’s old record of News of the World so he can scare Stewie with the cover (pictured above). It was a pretty good episode. Queen is one of my favorite bands, and I like seeing it being mentioned in the modern age of terrible music.

2. Back to the Pilot

9acx08_024_0058
Ok, Lois may think that this death ray is a toy, that’s a reasonable mistake, but where does she think it came from? Source: Wiki

Back to the Pilot is about Brian and Stewie going back in time to find Brian’s favorite tennis ball, and the time that they traveled to was at the same time the pilot took place. Brian ends up having to go to the bathroom where he tells his past self about events that will happen in the future making the present change.  It was a pretty funny episode, and time travel is always a plot I enjoy watching shows use. Although I really loved this episode, this is when I started to notice Brian becoming a terrible character. It is shown that the only reasons Brian even did some of the things to change the future were to become famous. Like when he stopped 9/11 he was full of himself the entire time, and it was obvious he only cared about the fame that will come from preventing the tragedy. But other than making Brian the second worst character (only second to Butters) in all cartoon history, I really love watching and rewatching this episode.

Honorable Mention: Partial Terms of Endearment

1200x630bb
Source: iTunes

If you don’t remember watching this one, it’s (probably) not because of your terrible memory; it’s because this episode was banned from airing in the U.S. and, as far as I can tell, only available to legally stream on Netflix. It’s about the most controversial subject to ever hit the U.S.–abortion. The episode starts with Lois’ old college friend Naomi approaching her to become the surrogate since she can’t have kids. Lois agrees and becomes the surrogate. A little bit later on in the episode the couple who asked Lois to be a surrogate died in a car crash leaving Lois with the choice whether or not to get the baby aborted. Yeah, anyone that lives in this country should know why this would cause a lot of controversies. The only reason why this isn’t on the list is because Seth Mcfarlane, the creator of the show, made this episode to show his political views on the subject, and I personally don’t like hearing about politics in my mind-numbing television.

1. Road To The Multiverse

Road_to_the_multiverse
Ah geez Stewie. Source: Fandom

Brian is one of the absolute worst characters in modern family guy episodes, but when he is paired with Stewie, Brian’s actually tolerable. The episode is about Brian and Stewie going on adventures through different universes. There’s a reason why this is the highest rated episode in the series on IMDb; it’s really good. I always found the multiverse theory to be intriguing, and Family Guy’s spin on the theory is pretty interesting to see it play out. The episode includes many different universes such as the Disney universe (everything is in the Disney style), the advanced universe (the universe shows a more advanced society and everyone is attractive, even Meg), and my personal favorite, the universe where everyone has to go “number 2” but they are in an important business meeting. As you can probably tell by the universes, it’s comedy based as all of the episodes are, but unlike most episodes in the series, this episode doesn’t rely on the over the top cutaway gags the show is famous for. Sure it may have a couple of cutaway gags, but it’s not like the ten that are in regular episodes. The only bad thing I can say about this episode is some of the jokes can be dragged out sometimes (The universe with the two-headed people was a little bit longer than it should be). Other than that, this was a really good episode and I suggest watching this if you’ve never seen this before. You won’t be disappointed.

Top 5 Best Cartoon Network Shows

By Michael Mann

Cartoon Network, for every good show there are ten bad ones. Time to go over my personal favorite shows that came from the network. Note: Nothing from Adult Swim will be put on this list, so don’t get offended that Rick and Morty or Robot Chicken isn’t on this list.

5. Teen Titans

4374406-teen-titans-season-1-screenshot-1
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the good version of Teen Titans. Source: Fandom

Ahh, Teen Titans. It’s about Teenage superheroes, Beast Boy, Starfire, Robin, Cyborg, and Raven fighting crime around fictional city Jump City. It’s a really good series that I really enjoyed watching in my early childhood and even recently. You might be wondering why this is so far up on the list. Well, I never enjoyed it as much as other people have. Don’t get me wrong I like the series, but I am not a super fanboy of it.

4. The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack

FlapjackSeriesLogoIA01.jpg
Source: Wiki

This is the second creepiest show on this list. The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack is about a boy named FlapJack and his friend Captain K’nuckles going on wacky adventures to get candy, which is the most addictive and valuable thing in the show. Depending on who you are, you either liked this show as a kid or it scarred you for life and was the worst thing you ever experienced. For me personally, I loved this show and watched it all the time. This is just one of those shows that are very silly on the surface but has an ominous undertone. For example, in one episode K’nuckles has to go to school, and it ends up being a Kraken controlling the students and the teacher just so it can feast on K’nuckles. There was also all the horrifying zooming into the faces of certain people, like the one creepy cat photo, which I don’t want to get in trouble for uploading to an article, so enjoy this meme.

This is just one of those shows you have to have a dark sense of humor and be a fan of horror and general weird stuff to actually like.

3.  Regular Show

Regular_show_title

Remember the commercials where it said, “It’s anything but?” Source: YouTube

Part of the Cartoon Network renaissance of good shows after the terrible times of LIVE ACTION TELEVISION (really it’s CARTOON Network NOT NICK). Regular Show is about two best friends, Mordecai (a blue jay) and Rigby (a raccoon), that work together at a park where lots of weird zany things happen on a daily basis. This is one the few shows I watched as a kid and still enjoy watching it today. The only true criticisms I have of this show is the last season; it’s just terrible. It’s about the employees of the park going to space and doing stuff up there, and it’s just terrible. The only good that came from the final season was the very end of the last episode, which ended the series on a sad yet satisfying note. But other than that, it’s a solid series that I really enjoy watching, and I would suggest this series to anyone who likes animated shows.

2. Code Name: Kids Next Door

maxresdefault (10)
Source: YouTube

Code Name:  Kids Next Door follows the story of five kids who are part of a group of kids who fight adults that want to ruin all the fun. As cliche’ as that sounds, it is one of the best shows to ever air on Cartoon Network. It’s a pretty creative cartoon, and each episode comes with a new plot each time. Probably the most surprising thing about this cartoon is that the story actually has continuity. It acknowledges things that happen in other episodes and even ends with stuff that has been building up for the entirety of the series. The only thing that I can say negatively about this cartoon is that most episodes come with an explosion of colors that occasionally give me a headache, but other than that, nothing much else to say. I really suggest you check it out especially if you watched it when you were younger and are afraid it isn’t as good as you remember because it actually is.

Honorable Mentions:

  • Ed, Edd n Eddy:  I didn’t have a place for it on my list since I haven’t watched an episode since it still aired on T.V., and I’m not sure how it holds up since I’m older. But, I still have fond memories of watching the show.
  • Camp Lazlo:  Funny show. Too childish. I loved watching it when I was younger, so thought it deserved a mention.
  • Power Puff Girls:  This show is really good, but being raised in this country I found it to be way too girly as a kid, and I’ve only recently started to admire how good of a show this is.

1. Teen Titans GO!

YEAH!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Source: Hulu

Oooh boy, my favorite show in the entire history of the network! Love it, best show ever! 10/10. Yeah, no. But seriously, my actual favorite CN show is…

1. Courage the Cowardly Dog

tumblr_mpvnm9eLP01s753q8o1_500
Even after seeing this 40 times today I still laugh at how Courage looks whilst screaming. Source: WiffleGif

Yes, Courage the Cowardly Dog is the best CN show. It’s about a paranoid pink dog named Courage living with two old people, Muriel and Eustace, in the middle of nowhere (which is literally the nearby town’s name) where a lot of weird stuff happens on a daily basis. Remember how I said Flapjack was the second weirdest? Well, this is the absolute weirdest, but weird isn’t always necessarily a bad thing. Growing up, I watched this more than any other cartoon airing at the time (even SpongeBob). It’s different from the normal things that aired on the network, and it didn’t rely on gross-out humor like most cartoons of that time did. If you’re a fan of creepy shows, I 10/10 recommend watching this.

Top 5 South Park Episodes

By Michael Mann

South Park, one of the, if not the most vulgar show airing on television today, and one of my personal favorite shows of all time. Most of us watch it for the comedy, others watch it because the messages in most episodes and little kids watch it because the kids cuss a lot. I am making this article to share some of my personal favorite episodes in the series. Note, since this is a site a child may read I can’t put some of the more inappropriate episodes on this list, sorry you can’t hear my thoughts on episodes like when Paris Hilton comes to South Park.

5. Rehash and Happy Holograms

Yes, right off the bat there is a tie for two-holiday episodes. The reasons why is they are pretty much just one episode split into two different parts. “Rehash” is about Kyle wanting to play a video game with his brother Ike, but instead, Ike decides to watch PewDiePie play the video game, making Kyle want things to go back to how they were when people wanted to play video games and not just watch other people play the games. Seeing Kyle complain about this, Cartman decides to make his own YouTube Channel (Cartmanbraa) with hopes of getting money.

HappyHologramsPromo1

And the episode “Happy Holograms” is about a Christmas special airing with Holograms depicting actors instead of the actors showing up themselves, and Cartman’s channel starts to trend.

They are both really good episodes that I don’t even mind watching if it isn’t the season to be jolly. And the reason why it’s high on the list is that it’s a holiday special.

4. Good Times With Weapons

The highest rated episode on IMDb and with good cause. It’s about the boys lying about their ages to get weapons in a state fair, and they act like warriors with superpowers. Interesting enough plot, but what makes it special? Nothing much only THAT IT’S ANIME. Yes, the tradition construction paper looking animation is traded for nice looking anime.

Like every episode on this list, I strongly suggest watching this one because the comedy and animation is just top notch, but I do have one thing to say, Butters gets his eye hit with a shuriken and it’s a bloody mess. So, if you have an issue with blood and eyes getting hurt, watch at your own risk.

3. Imagination Land Trilogy

Am I the only one who HATES Butters? Source: Amazon

The absolute goriest episodes in the entire series, and quite frankly, the funniest. It’s about Cartman finding a living leprechaun and making the boys wonder where it comes from. They stumble across a grown man in a magical blimp that takes Stan, Kyle, and Butters to a place called ImaginationLand, where the inhabitants are just things people imagined both good and bad. They are separated by a wall until we find out terrorists followed the boys there, and they destroy the wall causing mass chaos. This episode is one of the edgier South Park episodes created and I wouldn’t suggest this if you can’t stand looking at a lot of blood and violence, but those of you who like seeing animated people getting killed in funny gruesome ways, then go right ahead.

2: Make Love, Not WarCraft

Just like the anime episode, this also strays from the traditional South Park animation. It’s about the boys playing World of Warcraft and keep getting killed by someone before they can do quests and level up. The boys, in an attempt to kill the guy, grind by killing hogs in the woods for a couple months straight.

This episode is really good, even if you’re like me and know absolutely nothing about the game. The jokes are great and anyone who plays games can understand them.

Honorable Mention: Episode 200 & 201

200

Possibly the most infamous episodes in the entire series. It’s about all the actors that starred on South Park tried to sue the city. The only way to avoid bankruptcy is with help from the group of religious leaders called the Super Best Friends. If you don’t recall watching this one, it may be because it aired a very limited amount of times before being banned. It was banned because it portrayed Muslim prophet, Muhammad. It may not seem like a big deal since they portrayed religious leaders from other religions, but the creators actually got death threats from radical Islamic people for portraying Muhammad. I decided to mention this because it has really good jokes and I suggest checking it out if you haven’t seen it already, you will have to pirate it, it’s not available on Hulu and, like I said, no longer airs on television.

One thing that I always found weird was in the two episodes Muhammad has a generic voice, and he was barely seen at all. It was banned, but there is another episode called Super Best Friends that he had an actual voice that has kind of an accent, and he does more than just “be there”. People didn’t even bat an eye until these episodes were aired, which is just weird to me because the episode was out for nearly a decade before it aired.

Honorable Mention: Informative Murder

Another really good episode that deserves a spot on the list. By the title, you can obviously tell this is the Minecraft episode, right? The episode is about the kids of South Park blocking Investigation Discovery, a channel that has all their shows talking about murder because they are afraid that their parents will imitate what’s seen on T.V. and kill each other.

And the only way to get past the block is to answer questions about Minecraft. So, rather than look it up (because what’s the fun in that) the parents learn how to play.

1. The Black Friday Trilogy

The absolute best South Park episode has to be The Black Friday Trilogy. It’s a parody of Game of Thrones and is about the kids feuding over which console is better, Ps4 or Xbox One. The description might be a little emptier than all my other ones for the episodes, but there is just so much that goes on in these three episodes I wouldn’t know where to start when explaining it. Also, it’s so good I don’t want to accidentally spoil anything for those of you who haven’t watched this. It’s about an hour and a half total, but it stays interesting the whole time, and there isn’t a dull moment throughout the whole thing.

Which of “The Office” Characters Best Fit You?

maxresdefault

By Kedisha Jack

Most of us know about the show “The Office” where sarcasm, trash jokes, and forward emails are encouraged. Each character has their own unusual personality that makes us love them. So the question is, “Which one of “The Office” character best fits your personality?”

4372.jpg

Michael Scott – The Office Boss; The King Of Email Forwards, and since he’s the boss, he practically gets away with everything. He tries to hard with his trash jokes, which most often come out as rude comments, but although he acts like a child, we all know he’s actually decent at his job and means well.

Dwight Schrute – The Boss’s Pet; Just like a teacher’s pet, he’s always there as Michael’s second hand, and he’s also a major butt-kisser. He’ll bring you down, and he acts way too serious about way too many things (fire drills especially).

Jim Halpert – The Office Prankster; Always has something up his sleeves when it comes to messing with Dwight. When he’s not by the receptionist desk and pulling pranks, he obviously gets bored working. The only way he gets through the day is with his sarcasm and having fun with Pam.

Pam Beesly-Halpert The Office Receptionist; The “Artsy- Fartsy” person in the office and perhaps one of the few reasonable people in the office. She’s the one that balances the craziness in the office. Running out of office supply?  Pam is always up and ready to help.

Kevin Malone – The Office Idiot; A slow minded fellow, who’s almost always making blunt or offensive comments. His goofy grin and giggle brighten up the mood in the office. He’s a big, kind teddy bear that is always down for a Jar of M&Ms.

Creed Bratton – The Office Nut; Creed is an unknown guy. He’s odd and is always performing random acts in the office. Judging from his stories, he’s a criminal. He’s all about that “ Yes, I like to steal things and I don’t care.”

Angela Martin-Shrute – The Office Cat Lady; A stuck up party planner that’s mean to everyone in the office. Her Priorities? Her cats and her son.  Even with her “holier-than-thou” ways, She still throws shady comments. Her lowkeyy is pretty funny.

Meredith Palmer – The Office Drunk; An alcoholic mother that has a habit of flashing and exposing her body. With her inappropriate behavior and sexual comments, she’s always down to have a crazy and fun time.

Phyllis Vance – The Office Mother; Your basic mom figure who is always down to hear the latest gossip in the office. Although she’s one of the quietest staff memebers in the office, certain things can set her off. She rarely is about conflict but is not above blackmail.

Stanley Hudson – The Office Grump; Stanley obviously hates working in the office. He occupies himself with his puzzles and sudoku. He never wants to be bothered and the only highlight of his work year is Pretzel Day.

Image result for andy bernard

Andy Bernard – The Office Nard Dog; A corporate show off who has a slight bad case of anger issues. Besides the fact that he often making holes in the office walls, he also has the best musical best pipes in the office. His attitude is mostly positive, but sometimes you just want Andy to shut up.

Top 5 SpongeBob Episodes

By Michael Mann

I am making this article so that I can talk about my personal favorite SpongeBob episodes. Also to say this, I am a high schooler and I still watch SpongeBob. I don’t care that it’s for kids. It’s something to take my mind off of all the stress in my day-to-day life and current affairs…

5. UGH

Ugh
Most creative title EVER. Source: Wikia

Ahh, UGH, one of my personal favorite episode of SpongeBob. It’s about the prehistoric versions of SpongeBob, Squidward, and Patrick discovering FIRE. I can’t explain how much I love this episode. I really enjoy cartoons that delve into time travel and prehistoric times. The only true criticism I actually have is all the Patchy the Pirate stuff just acting as a filler in the episode, so it doesn’t have an awkward time slot.

4. Sandy’s Rocket

In this episode, SpongeBob and Patrick sneak into Sandy’s rocket ship that she, for some reason, keeps outside completely unprotected and only requires a pushed button to open it. While SpongeBob and Patrick are playing around in the ship, they end up launching it and go to outer space. They unwittingly land on earth thinking it’s an alien planet where they capture everyone thinking they are evil aliens. As always, I suggest checking this out if you want mind numbing entertainment.

3. Band Geeks

Band Geeks is an awesome SpongeBob episode. Not only does it have good jokes, it actually has one of the greatest classic rocks songs, Sweet Victory. It’s about Squidward talking to his old rival from band school, Squillium Fancyson. When Squidward decides to lie and says that he has a band,  one thing leads to another and Squidward then recruits the people of Bikini Bottom to perform in the Bubble Bowl, which is the Super Bowl of their world in case you couldn’t tell. It’s a good episode but they rarely air it. I suggest just finding a site online if you feel like watching it.

2. Sailor Mouth

Title card for the episode. Source: Wikia

Sailor Mouth, possibly the most infamous episode in the entire series. If you haven’t heard of this episode, it’s about Spongebob and Patrick learning a bad word (which is just a random SFX), and they start using it excessively. This is an episode that every time I watch it I can’t stop laughing. Not just because it’s funny, but I still can’t believe they were actually allowed to put this in a kids cartoon. Sure they never cuss, but it so obvious what words they are saying and it’s just so good.

(Actual transcript) SpongeBob: [taps on the microphone and speaks into it] Attention, customers, today’s special is a [dolphin chirp] Krabby Patty served in a greasy [dolphin chirp] sauce and grilled to [dolphin chirp] perfection.  And don’t forget to ask us to [dolphin chirp] the [dolphin chirp] fries. It will be our [dolphin chirp] pleasure. Hi Squidward, how the [dolphin chirp] are ya?

Dishonorable Mention: The Splinter

Luckily for you, I don’t want to see the whole thing either. Source: Giphy

Note, I decided to add this just to show the opposite end of the spectrum in terms of the best episodes. This episode depicts everything wrong with the modern episodes of SpongeBob. It’s about SpongeBob getting a splinter during work (which happens with a very gross scene for a kids show) and him trying to take it out but makes it a lot worse. This by far is the worst episode of SpongeBob I have ever seen.

Honorable Mention:  It’s a SpongeBob Christmas!

Ignore the “click anywhere to play”, it was just the best photo I could find relating to this movie. Source: Wikipedia

If you read any of my Christmas articles, you would have probably seen this coming. It’s just such a good episode and frankly one of the best ever. But it’s also just something I only watch during Christmastime, so I decided to not put this number 1 on the list.

1. Help Wanted

Help wanted one of the first episodes of the series. It’s about SpongeBob getting his job at the Krusty Krab by getting a new spatula while Mr. Krabs and Squidward hold off the court without him.

Which they absolutely fail and SpongeBob swoops in and saves them. I can’t think of any criticism for this episode, the plot seems to be completely original and the animation is pretty good. If you ever feel like watching SpongeBob but hate how it has changed, watch this episode (unless it’s Christmas then watch It’s a SpongeBob Christmas).

Hope you enjoyed my list. What’s your favorite SpongeBob episode? Comment down below. Until next time, bye.
